Preeti Jauhar

Roles and responsibilities:

Preeti is a specialist orthodontist welcoming patients of all ages and is experienced in many types of modern orthodontic appliances. Preeti graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2008, spent 2 years working in oral and maxillofacial surgery, paediatric dentistry and community dentistry. Her interest in Orthodontics stemmed from her own treatment as a child, she moved to London in 2011 to specialise in Orthodontics at the Royal London Dental Hospital, completing a Masters degree, gaining her MOrth from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh making her a specialist. She then chose to study for an extra two years to learn how to manage more complex cases, this training was at Great Ormond Street and the Royal London Dental Hospitals. After passing her ISFE in Orthodontics she was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal London Dental Hospital. Preeti now treats complex cases in the Hospital service, is part of the Adult Cleft Lip & Palate service, trains registrars in Orthodontics and lectures students. As well as being a member of the British Orthodontic Society, she is also a member of the Cleft & Craniofacial Society of the UK & Ireland. She keeps up to date with new developments in Orthodontics together with publishing and presenting research at national conferences.

Sona Kotecha

Roles and responsibilities:

Sona qualified from the University of Manchester in 2002 and then moved back to London where she worked in general practice and at various hospitals including the Eastman Dental Hospital in various specialties such as Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Paediatric dentistry. Sona is trained to Consultant level and is committed to providing high quality orthodontic treatment to both children and adults with both fixed appliances and clear aligner systems. Her specialist areas of interest are adult orthodontics and treating patients who require a multidisciplinary input. She completed her MSc in adult orthodontics for which she was awarded the Ian Reynolds Memorial Prize. Sona has also been published in prestigious International and National journals such as the American Journal of Orthodontics and Journal of Orthodontics.

Hobbies:

I’m kept busy by my young daughter – but in my spare time I love to keep fit by playing netball as well as Bollywood Zumba! I love to travel and explore new cuisines.
