Meeral Makwana

Roles and responsibilities:

Meeral is a very friendly and highly experienced orthodontist who divides her time between working in practice and serving as a consultant for complex bite cases in the hospital. She graduated with honours from Queen Mary University of London and gained experience in various dental specialties, including sedation, paediatrics, oral surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. She was awarded a distinction for her Masters in Primary Dental Care and, driven by a passion for teaching, went on to complete a diploma in Dental Education. During her specialist orthodontic training, Meeral received awards from the British Orthodontic Society for both her clinical cases and research in orthognathic treatment. She later completed her Masters in Clinical Dentistry and achieved her specialist (MOrth) and consultant (FDSOrth) qualifications through the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Over the years, she has been recognized for training dentists, therapists, and orthodontists, and has delivered national presentations, including at the UK Dentistry Show, on topics she is passionate about. Meeral has a special interest in dental photography, which she uses to help patients better understand their teeth and treatment plans. Her gentle nature and clinical expertise consistently ensure patients receive excellent care, feel relaxed, and remain well-informed throughout their orthodontic journey.

Roles and responsibilities:

I joined Angle House group as an orthodontic nurse over the past 5 years I have progressed within the group to treatment coordinator and then moving onto my current role as orthodontic therapist. My experiences over this time have helped me to achieve a deep understanding of my work both clinical and non- clinical. Enabling me to provide a comfortable and friendly environment for patients and the team, to ensure service delivery in practice, and all operational aspects within the practice to achieve customer service.

My journey at Angle House began when I joined as a dental nurse in 2023. Eager to expand my skills, I pursued additional qualifications such as Dental Radiography and stepped into the head dental nurse role. In my role as head dental nurse I aim to provide a high standard of care for all patients. I work closely with clinicians to ensure good communication and strive to create a relaxed environment and a great patient experience.
