Preeti Jauhar

Roles and responsibilities:

Preeti is a specialist orthodontist welcoming patients of all ages and is experienced in many types of modern orthodontic appliances. Preeti graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2008, spent 2 years working in oral and maxillofacial surgery, paediatric dentistry and community dentistry. Her interest in Orthodontics stemmed from her own treatment as a child, she moved to London in 2011 to specialise in Orthodontics at the Royal London Dental Hospital, completing a Masters degree, gaining her MOrth from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh making her a specialist. She then chose to study for an extra two years to learn how to manage more complex cases, this training was at Great Ormond Street and the Royal London Dental Hospitals. After passing her ISFE in Orthodontics she was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal London Dental Hospital. Preeti now treats complex cases in the Hospital service, is part of the Adult Cleft Lip & Palate service, trains registrars in Orthodontics and lectures students. As well as being a member of the British Orthodontic Society, she is also a member of the Cleft & Craniofacial Society of the UK & Ireland. She keeps up to date with new developments in Orthodontics together with publishing and presenting research at national conferences.

Sona Kotecha

SPECIALIST ORTHODONTIST

Roles and responsibilities:

Sona qualified from the University of Manchester in 2002 and then moved back to London where she worked in general practice and at various hospitals including the Eastman Dental Hospital in various specialties such as Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Paediatric dentistry. Sona is trained to Consultant level and is committed to providing high quality orthodontic treatment to both children and adults with both fixed appliances and clear aligner systems. Her specialist areas of interest are adult orthodontics and treating patients who require a multidisciplinary input. She completed her MSc in adult orthodontics for which she was awarded the Ian Reynolds Memorial Prize. Sona has also been published in prestigious International and National journals such as the American Journal of Orthodontics and Journal of Orthodontics.

Hobbies:

I’m kept busy by my young daughter – but in my spare time I love to keep fit by playing netball as well as Bollywood Zumba! I love to travel and explore new cuisines.

Reena Raithatha

SPECIALIST ORTHODONTIST

Roles and responsibilities:

Reena graduated with Honours from the University of Manchester in 2010. As well as attaining a distinction in the final examinations, she was also awarded the Charles Preston Prize and medal, given to the most outstanding dentist to qualify that year.

She continued her training in London working as a senior house officer at Guys Hospital in Paediatric dentistry and Oral surgery. During this time she also completed her MJDF qualification at the Royal college of surgeons london. She gained further invaluable experience working as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

In 2013 she carried out her specialist training in Orthodontics at Kings College Hospital. On completion, she graduated with a merit in her Masters of Science degree and was awarded a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Reena has also presented her Masters research at the British Orthodontic conference and subsequently published it in the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She is an active member of the British Orthodontic Society and is a certified practitioner in Invisalign and Lingual orthodontics.

Her kind and polite nature make her an excellent clinician, not only technically, but her extremely caring demeanour will put any nervous patient at ease.

Hobbies:

Her interests outside of work include yoga and keeping fit. She also has a keen interest.

Maryam Vanat

SPECIALIST ORTHODONTIST

Roles and responsibilities:

Maryam graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2012 after which she gained further experience in secondary care as a senior house officer in both oral and maxillofacial surgery and paediatric dentistry. She completed her MJDF qualification at the Royal College of Surgeons London and in 2016 carried out her specialist training in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute. During this time, she obtained a Masters in Clinical Dentistry and on completion was awarded a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons London. She continued a further 2 years of training in the management of complex multidisciplinary cases and is appointed as a Consultant at Northwick Park Hospital. She is a member of the British Orthodontic Society and is published in peer reviewed journals as well as presented at both national and international conferences.

Hobbies:

In her spare time (of which she has little due to her 2 little monkeys!) she loves running, doing Pilates and jumping on trampolines! She is an avid traveller, loves to read and is hopeful to one day improve on her cooking skills – all tips welcome!
